Le pragmatisme en éthique: deux conférences de Daniel Bromley

CRÉUM is honoured to receive Prof. Daniel W. Bromley (University of Wisconsin-Madison) for two interesting conferences.

  • On Tuesday December 5th at 2 pm, Prof. Bromley will give a talk based on his book Sufficient Reason: Volitional Pragmatism and the Meaning of Economic Institutions, at the invitation of a reading group on pragmatism at CRÉUM (see abstract below).
  • On Wednesday December 6th at 2 pm, a second talk is planned on the theme of Business Ethics, at the invitation of the Chaire en éthique des affaires de l’Université de Montréal (see abstract and paper of the presentation below).

Both talk will take place at CRÉUM, room 309 (2910 Boul. Édouard-Montpetit, Métro Université de Montréal).

Daniel W. Bromley is Anderson-Bascom Professor of applied economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been editor of the journal Land Economics since 1974.

He has been a consultant to the Global Environment Facility; the World Bank; the Ford Foundation; the U.S. Agency for International Development; the African Development Bank; the Asian Development Bank; the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development; and the Ministry for the Environment in New Zealand. He is currently advising the government of Sudan on economic recovery in Darfur and southern Sudan.

Professor Bromley has written and edited many books. His twelfth book, Sufficient Reason: Volitional Pragmatism and the Meaning of Economic Institutions was published by Princeton University Press in March, 2006.
