Appel de candidatures pour un projet de rencontre entre l’art et la bioéthique.

Nous sommes à la recherche de jeunes chercheur(euse)s en bioéthique passionnée(e)s par l’art. Avec des collègues des Programmes de bioéthique de l’Université de Montréal, de l’Université de Sherbrooke et la galerie Espace Projet, nous avons mis sur pied un projet de dialogue entre la bioéthique et la pratique artistique.

Notre idée est de rassembler 5 plasticien(ne)s et 5 bioéthicien(ne)s. L’artiste développe une oeuvre en lien avec le travail du/de la bioéthicien(ne) et le/la bioéthicien(ne) produit un essai en lien avec l’oeuvre. Le résultat de ce travail collaboratif sera présenté à la galerie Espace Projet (http://www.espaceprojet.net/) de la fin février à la fin mars 2016.

Qu’est-ce que ça implique ?

•Être au début de son parcours de recherche en bioéthique (moins de 5 années après lafin du doctorat ou toujours en scolarité).

•Être disponible en septembre 2015 pour une rencontre de pairageplasticien(ne)/bioéthicien(ne).

•Être disponible pour réaliser environ 3 à 4 rencontres avec l’artiste au courant del’automne 2015.

•Écrire un essai (1500-3000 mots) avec 5-8 références et une version plus courte pouraccompagner l’oeuvre. L’essai sera publié dans la revue BioéthiqueOnline(http://bioethiqueonline.ca/).

•Être bilingue (français/anglais).

•Être disponible (idéalement) de la fin février à la fin de mars 2016 pour le vernissage,un atelier de médiation culturelle et plus si affinités.

Si le projet vous intéresse, envoyez-nous votre CV ainsi qu’un court texte (1 page max) qui présente votre travail en bioéthique, votre intérêt pour la pratique artistique et l’aspect de votre expertise que vous voulez mettre en jeu et qui stimulerait le plus cette rencontre entre l’éthique et l’esthétique, la science et l’art, la bioéthique et les arts plastiques. Call for application for a project mixing art and bioethics 

We are looking for young researchers in bioethics passionate about art. With colleagues from Bioethics Programs (Université de Montréal), Université de Sherbrooke and the art gallery Espace Projet, we are setting up a dialogue between bioethics and artistic practices.

Our idea is to bring together 5 artists and 5 bioethicists. The artist develops an artwork in connection with the work of the bioethicist and the bioethicist produces an essay in connection with the artwork. The result of this collaboration will be presented at Espace Projet (http://www.espaceprojet.net/) from late February to late March 2016. We are now looking for young researchers in the field of bioethics interested in art who will be interested to participate in the adventure.

What does it implies?

• Being a young researcher in bioethics (less than five years after doctorate or still PhD candidate).

• Be available in September 2015 for a meeting of pairing between the artist/bioethicist.

• Be available for around 3 to 4 meetings with the artist during Autumn 2015.

• Write an essay (1500-3000 words) with min. 5-8 references and a shorter version to accompany the artwork. The essay will be published in a special edition of the peer-reviewed bilingual journal BioéthiqueOnline (http://bioethiqueonline.ca/).

• Bilingual (French / English).

• Be available (ideally) from the end of February until the end of March 2016 for the opening, a participation in a cultural mediation workshop and maybe more.

If you are interested by the project, send us your resume and a short text (1 page max) presenting your work in bioethics, your interest in artistic practice and the aspect of your expertise you want to put forward in the dialogue between ethics and aesthetics, science and art, bioethics and plastic arts.
