Christine Straehle est professeure titulaire en philosophie politique et affaires publiques de l’Université de Groningen, et professeure agrégée en éthique et éthique appliquée à l’Université d’Ottawa. Ses recherches portent sur l’éthique de la migration, sur des questions de justice globale et sur les concepts de la vulnérabilité et l’autonomie dans la philosophie morale. Elle était Visiting Fellow au centre ‘Justitia Amplificata’ de l’Université de Francfort en 2012, au Centre for Ethics, Philosophy and Public Affairs dans le département de philosophie, University of St. Andrews à l’automne 2013 et Research Fellow à la fondation Brocher en 2014 et en 2018. Depuis 2014, elle est membre du Global Justice Network basé à l’Université de Franfort. Ses travaux ont été publiés dans des revues comme le European Journal of Philosophy, Journal of Applied Philosophy, Canadian Journal of Philosophy and Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Elle a dirigé plusieurs volumes, dont dernièrement Vulnerability, Autonomy and Applied Ethics. Pendant son séjour au CRÉ, elle travaillera sur deux projet : un qui porte sur les obligations vis-à-vis des réfugiés en matières de santé, et un deuxième qui est un manuscrit sur l’éthique de GPA.

Christine Straehle is Professor for Political Philosophy and Public Affairs at the University of Groningen, and Associate Professor of Ethics and Applied Ethics at the University of Ottawa. Her research focuses on the ethics of migration, questions of global justice and conceptions of vulnerabilty and autonomy in moral philosophy. She has been a Visiting Fellow at the Centre ‘Justitia Amplificata’ at Frankfurt University in 2012, at the Centre for Ethics, Philosophy and Public Affairs, in the Philosophy department at the University of St. Andrews in 2013, and a Research Fellow at the Brocher foundation in 2014 and in 2018. Since 2014, she is a member of the Global Justice Netwok based at the University of Frankfurt. Her work has appeared in publications such as the European Journal of Philosophy, the Journal of Applied Philosophy, the Canadian Journal of Philosophy and Politics, Philosophy and Economics. She has edited several volumes, most recently Vulnerability, Autonomy and Applied Ethics. During her stay, she will work on two projects : the first one on Duties of Justice in Health for refugees and asylum seekers ; the second one is a manuscript on the ethics of surrogacy.
