BOURSES DE MAÎTRISE ET DOCTORAT 2022-2023
Le groupe de recherche interuniversitaire sur la normativité (GRIN) offre environ 15 bourses d’une valeur maximale de 3,000 $ pour les étudiants de 2e et 3e cycles.
Le GRIN rassemble vingt chercheurs intéressés par l’étude philosophique de la normativité. Il s’agit là d’une thématique qui se caractérise autant par sa variété que par son importance. Les différentes questions ayant trait à la normativité se situent en effet au centre de plusieurs débats en philosophie contemporaine. Le GRIN réunit ainsi des chercheurs en éthique, en philosophie de l’action, en philosophie de l’esprit, en philosophie de la psychiatrie et en épistémologie.
Pour la bourse, le GRIN accueille les dossiers de candidat(e)s qui travaillent sous la supervision d’un membre régulier du groupe* et qui rédigent un mémoire ou une thèse dont le sujet s’inscrit dans un des champs ciblés par l’actuelle programmation de recherche du groupe :

2. Normativité et affectivité
3. Normativité et société
Admissibilité :
· L’étudiant(e) doit être inscrit(e) aux études à temps plein dans son programme durant la période couverte par la bourse.
· L’étudiant(e) doit réaliser ses recherches sous la supervision d’un membre régulier du GRIN.*
· L’étudiant doit comprendre le français et l’anglais.
Objectif de la bourse :
· Soutien aux études supérieures dans le domaine de la philosophie de la normativité.
Montant et durée de la bourse :
· Chaque bourse attribuée par le GRIN est d’une valeur maximale de 3,000 $, pour la période couvrant l’année universitaire 2022-2023. Cette bourse peut être cumulée avec des bourses provenant d’autres organismes.
· Les bourses sont versées en deux tranches, la première à l’automne, la seconde à l’hiver. Le versement de la seconde tranche est conditionnel à la participation aux activités du groupe pendant la session d’automne.
Obligations du boursier ou de la boursière :
1. Mener un projet de recherche en conformité avec celui soumis lors de leur candidature.
2. Avoir un plan clair (100 à 300 mots) pour favoriser des collaborations entre les membres du GRIN (étudiants ou professeurs). Ce plan peut comprendre un ou plusieurs des points suivants :
1. Participer aux activités scientifiques organisées par le GRIN (ateliers, séminaires, colloques).
2. Prendre part aux journées spécialement prévues pour les boursiers et boursières (présentation des projets de recherche, ateliers de formation, journée des boursiers et boursières en fin d’année).
3. Avoir un plan d’activité personnalisé : collaborations spéciales avec un.e chercheur.e du GRIN, groupes de lecture, groupes de relecture de manuscrit, co-rédaction d’un article avec un.e membre du GRIN, participation au moins à titre de commentateur.ice d’un.e étudiant.e plus avancé.e dans le cadre de la journée des boursier.es. Toutes les initiatives sont bienvenues!
Dossier de candidature :
· Le formulaire ci-joint dûment complété.
· Une lettre de motivation précisant les intérêts de recherche et leur lien avec la question de la normativité, ainsi que le plan de collaboration à la vie intellectuelle au sein du GRIN.
· Un projet de recherche (1 page maximum)
· Un mot du directeur ou de la directrice de recherche confirmant qu’il ou elle a lu et approuve le projet.
· Un curriculum vitæ dans lequel l’étudiant(e) doit notamment indiquer les autres bourses perçues pendant la période de validité de la bourse du GRIN.
Critères de sélection :
· Qualité de la lettre de motivation du candidat ou de la candidate.
· Qualité du dossier universitaire.
· Intérêt du projet de recherche eu égard au programme de recherche du GRIN.

MASTER’S AND DOCTORAL GRANTS 2022-2023
The Interuniversity Normativity Research Group (GRIN) is offering approximately 15 grants of a maximum of $3000 for master’s and doctoral students.
The GRIN is composed of 20 researchers interested in the philosophical study of normativity; a study characterized by its variety as well as its importance. In effect, various questions about normativity take center stage in numerous debates in contemporary philosophy. The GRIN therefore gathers researchers in ethics, philosophy of action, philosophy of mind, as well as philosophy of psychiatry and epistemology.
The GRIN is accepting applications from candidates who work under the supervision of any member of the research group*, and whose area of research addresses the sorts of questions articulated in the GRIN’s current program of research:
1. Normativity and rationality
2. Normativity and affectivity
3. Normativity and society
Admissibility:
· The applicant must be enrolled in full-time studies in their program during the period covered by the grant.
· The applicant must be working under the supervision of a regular member of the GRIN.*
· The applicant must have a working knowledge of French and English.
Grant objectives:
· Provide support for graduate studies in the philosophy of normativity, encourage students to be involved in a research group.
Grant amount and duration:
· Each grant is of a maximum of $3000 and covers the 2022-23 academic year. It may be conjoined with grants or scholarships from other granting institutions.
· Grant payments are made in two instalments, the first in fall, the second in winter. The second instalment is conditional to participation to the group’s activities during the fall term.
Recipient obligations:
1. Conduct a research project in accordance with the one submitted at the time of their application.
2. Have a clear plan (100 to 300 words) to encourage collaborations between GRIN members (students or professors). This plan may include one or more of the following:
A. Participate in scientific activities organized by GRIN (workshops, seminars, symposia).
B. Take part in the daysspecially planned for fellows (presentation of research projects, training workshops, scholarship day at the end of the year).
C. Have a personalized activity plan: special collaborations with a GRIN researcher, reading groups, manuscript review groups, co-writing of an article with a GRIN member, participation at least as a commentator of a more advanced student in the ca dre of the day of the boursier.es. All initiatives are welcome!
Application file:
· The attached form completed.
· A letter of motivation specifying the research interests and their link with the question of normativity,as well as the plan for collaboration in intellectual life within GRIN.
· Research proposal (maximum 1 page).
· A note from the research supervisor to attest that he or she has read and approves of the research proposal.
· CV in which the student has to indicate what other funds he or she will have during the period covered by the GRIN grant.

· Relevance of applicant’s research project to the GRIN’s research goals
