Montreal PhD and Early Career Workshop in Normative Political Philosophy
Call for proposals
Deadline to submit a proposal: December 8, 2025.
Anna Milioni (CRÉ, GRIPP) and Alexandre Petitclerc (UdeM) are launching a call for proposals for the new Montreal Normative Political Philosophy Workshop for PhD students and Early Career Researchers based in Montreal. The workshop will be pre-read and is scheduled to take place in person on February 5th at the Centre for Research in Ethics. The workshop aims to provide an opportunity for early career researchers to share their research in a friendly and informal setting, expand their research network, and get feedback on ongoing projects.
Submission guidelines:
Please ensure that any abstract submitted is anonymized and that it does not exceed 600 words. Selected applicants will be notified by the end of December, and will be asked to submit full drafts (maximum 10,000 words) by January 26. Abstracts should be sent to anna.milioni@umontreal.ca and alexandre.petitclerc@umontreal.ca, using “Montreal Normative Political Philosophy Workshop Submission” as subject.
We use the term Early Career broadly construed, to include any researchers who have not secured tenured or tenure-track positions after their PhD. We aspire to make the workshop as inclusive as possible, and we encourage participation from members of underrepresented groups. Applicants are also welcome to let us know in case they have any accessibility requirements.
*Please note that the workshop will take place in English.
