Meet-and-Greet with Jonathan Martineau. Être (ou ne pas être) présent dans un monde accéléré?
On Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., join us for a meet-and-greet with Jonathan Martineau (Concordia University) for his talk entitled “Être (ou ne pas être) présent dans un monde accéléré?”. The event will take place at the Chapelle de la Cité-des-Hospitalières, 209 avenue des Pins Ouest, Montréal, Québec.
Event Description:
The purpose of the meet-and-greet is to provide a framework for exploring particular aspects of the theme of presence in greater depth, to discover it and question it together. The goal is to offer the collective field an opportunity to encounter unique and inspiring perspectives on the theme of presence.
The event is free and open on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.
The event will last approximately one hour, with a 20-minute discussion period.

Information on the Presenter:
Jonathan Martineau is a professor of philosophy at Concordia University’s Liberal Arts College. His research focuses on time, technology, and critical theory. He has published L’ère du temps (Lux) and Le capital algorithmique (with Jonathan Durand Folco, Écosociété). His current project focuses on presence in the world, the social conditions of the experience of time, and in particular the relationship between time and technology.
