Jill Frank (Cornell University) and Steven Pincus (University of Chicago)

The Research Group on Constitutional Studies (RCGS) invites you to participate in a series of lectures organized to mark the 10th anniversary of the Yan P. Lin Center, scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025, with presentations by Jill Frank (Cornell University) and Steven Pincus (University of Chicago). Jill Frank’s presentation, entitled “Crafting Order: Plato and the Shape of Democracy”, will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will include a buffet for attendees. Steven Pincus’ presentation, entitled “The South Asian Origins of American Independence: Empire, Political Economy and Partisan Politics”, will follow from 3:00 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.

The event will take place in the Faculty Club Billiard Room, McGill University, 3450 McTavish Street.

RGCS is a unit of the Yan P. Lin Centre for the Study of Freedom and Global Orders in the Ancient and Modern Worlds. The RGCS Lecture Series is supported in part by a grant from the Institute for Liberal Studies.
