Biography

Marie-Christine is a doctoral student in Applied Human Sciences at the University of Montreal, under the supervision of Ryoa Chung (Philosophy, UdeM) and Yves-Marie Abraham (HEC Montreal). In her thesis, Marie-Christine focuses on structural injustices in the context of the garment industry, which manifest as North-South inequities, gendered exploitation, and environmental injustices, among others. By drawing on literature about structural injustices and degrowth, Marie-Christine explores how degrowth, as both a theoretical field and a practical field of action, can help explain structural injustices and identify applicable solutions for the garment industry.
