Biography
Madeleine Kenyon is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Applied Philosophy at the University of Waterloo, after receiving her M.A. in Philosophy at the University of Waterloo, and her B.A. Honours Philosophy at the University of Victoria. Her research explores understandings of sexual consent and of how consent is taught in different contexts, as well as how to conceptualize people who have caused sexual harm. Madeleine has previously worked as a public educator at the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region, and is currently project manager for the Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Trans Community Resilience Project at the University of Waterloo. In her free time, Madeleine enjoys volunteering with the Community Justice Initiatives ‘Stride Program’ in her local prison, playing hockey, and covering songs on acoustic guitar that were never meant to be played acoustically.
