Science communication opportunity for CRÉ student members!

Call for Applications!

The CRÉ is partnering with BistroBrain to invite applications from its student members (working under the supervision of a CRÉ co-researcher at the Centre) to participate in a science communication event on Wednesday, December 9, 2026, in Montréal.

The three selected students will receive support from BistroBrain in preparing a 12-minute public-facing presentation, accompanied by visual aids (slides), on their research project or on an ethical question that matters to them. BistroBrain will provide them with science communication training, as well as recording and dissemination of their presentations. The presentations will be given in French.

To see examples of past presentations, visit the BistroBrain YouTube channel.

If you are interested, please send the following information to Valéry Giroux (valery.giroux@umontreal.ca) by October 14, 2026:

  • Tentative title of your presentation;
  • Brief description of the ethical issue or question you would like to address (maximum 250 words);
  • A short explanation of why you think your presentation would be of interest to the public (maximum 250 words).

Selected candidates will need to be available for the training session and rehearsal. They must also commit to submitting their slides in advance.

BistroBrain is a non-profit organization that hosts monthly science communication events in Sherbrooke, Montréal, and Québec City. Since 2017, BistroBrain has held more than 145 events and trained nearly 1,000 people in science communication.Appel à candidatures !
