Biography

Laurent Jodoin completed studies in engineering and holds a PhD in philosophy of science (Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne/Université de Montréal, summa cum laude). His research lies primarily in philosophy of science and environmental philosophy, addressing both epistemological and ethical dimensions. It focuses on the explanation of complex systems, particularly those involving the concept of entropy, as well as on the normative and axiological issues raised by socio-ecological systems, including those at the heart of sustainable development and energy justice. His work has been published in leading international journals such as Philosophy of Science and Energy Research & Social Science. He has led major international and interdisciplinary research projects and also serves as an expert on the sustainable development committee of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. He currently teaches philosophy at Collège Lionel-Groulx and in the Environment and Sustainable Development program at the Université de Montréal.
