Biography
Nohémie Bokuma holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Montreal, a certificate in Women’s Studies from Concordia University, and is now pursuing a master’s degree in Political Science at Concordia University. Her main research interests focus on AI policy and governance and AI ethics from a feminist perspective. More specifically, under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Paterson and Dr. Jonathan Martineau (Concordia University), she seeks to identify gaps in national security policies in their response to and interactions with gender-based digital violence and misogynistic radicalization of young men, while taking a critical look at the technologies that facilitate this violence. This work is therefore part of an effort to illustrate the need for more robust regulations on gender-based digital violence.
Finally, Nohémie is a research assistant for Dr. Christopher Dietzel, where she and her team focus on identifying the risks and benefits of using artificial intelligence on dating platforms.
