Biography
Alexander Carty is a PhD candidate in philosophy at McGill working with Christopher Howard (McGill University) et David Davies (McGill University). Alexander is also affiliated with McGill’s new Philosophy, Technology, and Public Policy (PTP) Lab. Before starting his PhD, he completed a BA with distinction in philosophy at the University of Guelph, then an MA in philosophy at Wilfrid Laurier University. His dissertation is a collection of articles about the ethics and metaphysics of virtual reality and video game technologies. His research interests include normative ethics, moral psychology, ethics of technology, and the philosophy of emotions.
Alexander recently contributed to the book symposium on Christine Tappolet’s Philosophy of Emotion: A Contemporary Introduction that was published in The Ethics Forum. See here for the full collection articles.
