Biography
Karine Millaire, Ph.D., is a lawyer and assistant professor in constitutional law, human rights, and Indigenous law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montreal. Her research focuses on personal and collective autonomy, the consent of individuals, groups, and Indigenous peoples, and the development and protection of fundamental rights and freedoms in the context of cultural, normative, and constitutional pluralism. Her research aims to mobilize and produce knowledge that contributes to shaping public policy, decolonizing institutional practices, and supporting greater epistemic justice as well as respect for and implementation of rights and freedoms, including cultural safety.
