Les ateliers de l’éthique / The Ethics Forum
publishes articles pertaining to all the domains of ethics, with a particular attention to the normative challenges of public policies and social practices. We invite spontaneous submissions for the following types of manuscripts.

Research articles (up to 9,000 words) that offer substantive engagement with normative challenges arising in the context of social practices and public policies. Research articles are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.

Review articles (5,000-9,000 words) that offer an extensive overview of recent debates or literatures relevant to the journal’s scope. We particularly welcome French-language surveys of recent debates in Anglophone philosophy and English-language surveys of recent debates in Francophone philosophy. These submissions are subject to double-blind peer review by at least one reviewer.

Critical responses (up to 3,000 words) to articles recently published in Les ateliers de l’éthique/The Ethics Forum or elsewhere. Manuscripts submitted under this category are subject to double-blind peer review by at least one reviewer.

Case discussion and responses. Case discussions (up to 3,000 words) describe and discuss real-world problems concerning social practices and/or public policy and identify normative questions or approaches that might be suitable for engaging with those problems. Accepted case discussions will be published on the journal’s website, along with an invitation for responses (also up to 3,000 words in length). Case discussions and responses are subject to double-blind review by at least one peer reviewer.

Book reviews (around 1,000-2,000 words). We particularly welcome French-language reviews of monographs written in English and English-language reviews of monographs written in French. Please contact the Administrative Editor if you are interested in reviewing a recently published monograph. Book reviews will be reviewed by at least one member of the editorial board. In exceptional cases, we might also consider book reviews that are longer than the maximum length indicated above.

Les ateliers de l’éthique / The Ethics Forum also invites proposals for symposia by guest-editors (minimum of 3 articles; up to about 7 articles, in addition to an introduction by the guest-editor(s)). These can be on a specific topic, theme or controversy; on a monograph that was recently published or is worth revisiting; or on the French translation of an article originally published in English (Les ateliers de l’éthique / The Ethics Forum offers translation of selected articles from English into French; please contact the Administrative Editor with informal proposals for translations).
