Biography
Kyuree Kim is a PhD student in Political Science at McGill University, working under the supervision of professor Catherine Lu.
Prior to moving to Montreal, she obtained a BA and an MA in Political Science and International Relations from Seoul National University. She is currently working on a dissertation tentatively titled Defining and Operationalizing Structural Injustice. Her research aims to make the concept of structural injustice a more effective tool for analyzing various social problems. She finds the concept useful for her key areas of interest: global climate change and social issues related to South Korea’s demographic crisis. In addition to structural injustice, she is interested in concepts related to normative theorizing around collective social phenomena, such as agency, feasibility, moral demandingness, and responsibility.
