Biographie

Christiane Bailey est étudiante au doctorat en philosophie à l’Université de Montréal où elle prépare une thèse sur la reconnaissance des animaux comme individus doués d’une vie de conscience subjective (d’une vie psychologique incluant des dimensions à la fois affectives, cognitives et sociales) et sur les répercussions éthiques et socio-politiques de cette reconnaissance.

Elle s’intéresse plus spécifiquement aux approches critiques, écoféministes et posthumanistes en éthique animale contemporaine.

Son projet s’intitule Un animal comme un autre: Pour une éthique animale relationnelle et égalitariste (sous la direction de Bettina Bergo).

Elle a rédigé un mémoire de maîtrise intitulé « À la mesure du Dasein. La genèse des existentiaux dans la vie animale chez le jeune Heidegger (1919-1926) » sous la direction de Iain Macdonald (2011).
