A young man of marginal intelligence is accused of murder. A clue with his name on it and eyewitness testimony tie him to the crime. His mother plunges into action to prove her son innocent. He’s either guilty or not, and his mom will get to the bottom of things. Or not.

Un jeune homme atteint de déficiences intellectuelles est accusé de meurtre. Un indice et les déclarations de témoins le relient au crime. Sa mère s’engage pour prouver l’innocence de son fils. Soit il est coupable, soit il ne l’est pas; dans tous les cas, elle est ira au fond des choses. Ou pas.

However, both Philippe and his beautiful girlfriend, Marge (Marie Laforêt), have no intention of renouncing the dolce vita, and as the couple sails toward Sicily accompanied by Tom, it will become evident that three is a crowd. But there is more to Tom than meets the eye, furthermore, no one knows to what extremes one can go to get a slice of luxury.

 

Tom Ripley (Alain Delon), un charmant intellectuel sans le sou, se voit promettre 5 000 dollars pour retrouver et ramener à sa famille américaine son ami de longue date, Philippe Greenleaf (Maurice Ronet), un riche playboy voyageant en Méditerranée. Philippe et sa jolie petite amie, Marge (Marie Laforêt), n’ont cependant pas l’intention de renoncer à la dolce vita. Tandis que le couple navigue vers la Sicile en compagnie de Tom, il devient vite évident que quelqu’un est de trop dans ce trio. Mais Tom n’est pas ce qu’il paraît; et qui sait jusqu’où l’on est prêt à aller pour avoir sa part du gâteau?

Dans ce psychodrame réaliste à l’humour mordant, une famille suédoise modèle — le bel homme d’affaires Tomas, sa femme Ebba et leurs deux enfants blonds et pré-adolescents — partent en vacances au ski dans les Alpes françaises. Quand une avalanche les menace, la réaction égoïste de l’homme introduit des fissures dans son mariage et sa relation avec ses enfants.
